Dussehra is a festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil. In Jammu, the preparations for Dussehra have presented a beautiful example of communal harmony and brotherhood. At Geeta Bhawan, more than 45 Hindu and Muslim artisans from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, are working together to make the effigies of Ravana and Meghnad. These artisans work with great dedication and cooperation. They prepare around 60 to 65 effigies, which are sent to different places across Jammu and Kashmir, including border areas. Among the workers, six or seven are Muslim, while the others belong to Hindu families. Despite their different religious backgrounds, they work together with love, respect, and mutual understanding. The artisans believe that their work spreads the message of unity and brotherhood. Their teamwork shows that humanity is greater than religious differences. They prove that people of different faiths can live and work together peacefully. This inspiring example reminds us that festivals are not only about religious traditions but also about sharing happiness and strengthening relationships. The efforts of these artisans promote peace, unity, and mutual respect in society. In conclusion, the Dussehra preparations in Jammu beautifully demonstrate India’s spirit of unity in diversity. Their cooperation teaches us that love, peace, and brotherhood are the true foundations of a strong and harmonious nation.
