A Leader Shaped by Public Service
Manoj Sinha’s journey is rooted in the soil of eastern Uttar Pradesh. Born in Mohanpura village of Ghazipur district, he studied civil engineering at IIT (BHU) Varanasi and began his public life as president of the BHU Students Union. He went on to serve three terms as a Member of Parliament and held charge as Union Minister of State for Railways and for Communications.
When he took charge as Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir in August 2020, he set out a clear mission: peace, stability and faster development. His background as an engineer and his long experience in governance gave him a practical, ground-level approach. Many have long called him “Vikas Purush”, a leader focused on development.
