Security forces conduct mock drill at Chanderkote langar site to enhance Amarnath Yatra safety

Ramban, July 26,2026- Security forces conducted a comprehensive mock drill at the Chanderkote Langar Site along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district to strengthen security arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

The exercise simulated multiple emergency scenarios, including terror-related threats, medical emergencies, and evacuation operations, to assess the preparedness and coordination of various agencies involved in ensuring the safety of pilgrims.

The mock drill witnessed the participation of the Jammu & Kashmir Police, Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). Representatives from the civil administration and other emergency response agencies also took part in the exercise.

Officials said the drill was aimed at enhancing inter-agency coordination, improving emergency response capabilities, and ensuring a swift and effective reaction to any unforeseen situation during the annual pilgrimage.

The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra continues under multi-layered security arrangements, with authorities regularly conducting preparedness exercises to ensure a safe, secure, and hassle-free pilgrimage for devotees.
