Srinagar, July 23,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level review meeting on the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra at Lok Bhavan in Srinagar to assess the preparedness, coordination, and overall management of the annual pilgrimage.
Senior civil administration officials, security agencies, police, health, disaster management, and other stakeholder departments participated in the meeting. The Lieutenant Governor reviewed the arrangements being made to ensure the smooth, safe, and hassle-free conduct of the yatra.
Discussions focused on strengthening security measures, traffic management, medical facilities, emergency response systems, sanitation, communication networks, and pilgrim amenities along both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The meeting also assessed inter-departmental coordination to ensure uninterrupted services for devotees.
The Lieutenant Governor directed officials to maintain the highest standards of efficiency and coordination, emphasizing that the safety, comfort, and well-being of pilgrims must remain the top priority. He also reviewed contingency plans and instructed departments to remain fully prepared to respond swiftly to any weather-related or emergency situations during the pilgrimage.
The administration reiterated its commitment to providing a secure and seamless pilgrimage experience through continuous monitoring, robust infrastructure, and coordinated efforts of all departments involved in the annual yatra.
The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is one of India’s most significant annual pilgrimages, attracting lakhs of devotees from across the country. The Jammu and Kashmir administration continues to strengthen logistics, security, healthcare, and civic facilities to facilitate the smooth conduct of the sacred pilgrimage.
