J&K LG Manoj Sinha visits Voluntary Medicare Society, commends five decades of service to persons with disabilities

Jammu,July 22,2026- Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha visited the Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS) and lauded the institution for its more than five decades of dedicated service towards the welfare and empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.

During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor interacted with specially-abled individuals, para-athletes, staff members, and beneficiaries, appreciating the Society’s sustained efforts in promoting healthcare, education, livelihood opportunities, rehabilitation, and community inclusion for persons with disabilities.

Highlighting the role of sports in empowering individuals, Shri Sinha praised the Society’s contribution to nurturing para-athletes and encouraging inclusive sporting opportunities.

Interacting with the para-athletes, the Lieutenant Governor encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence with determination and confidence.

He said that every individual possesses unique strengths and abilities that contribute meaningfully to society, adding that the achievements of para-athletes serve as an inspiration for the entire nation.

The Lieutenant Governor also acknowledged the Voluntary Medicare Society’s longstanding commitment to creating an inclusive environment where persons with disabilities are empowered to lead independent, dignified, and fulfilling lives.

The visit reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote accessibility, equal opportunities, skill development, sports, and social inclusion for Persons with Disabilities, while recognising organisations that have made lasting contributions to inclusive development in the region.
