Srinagar, July 21,2026- The annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra has been suspended for July 21 and July 22 due to continuous heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions. As a precautionary measure, no pilgrims will be allowed to proceed from the Baltal base camp to the Holy Cave Shrine during this period.
The decision has been taken in the interest of pilgrim safety, considering the inclement weather and the need to assess the condition of the yatra track. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will review weather conditions before resuming the pilgrimage.
Pilgrims have been advised to remain at designated camps and follow instructions issued by the administration and security agencies. Officials have urged devotees to rely only on verified updates from the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) and district authorities for information regarding the resumption of the yatra.
The administration has assured that all necessary arrangements, including accommodation, food, medical facilities, and assistance, are being provided to pilgrims during the temporary suspension.
