Katra, July 21,2026-The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra has been temporarily suspended due to adverse weather conditions to ensure the safety of pilgrims travelling along the track to the holy shrine. Authorities have urged devotees to remain patient and follow official advisories until weather conditions improve and the pilgrimage resumes.
In response to the suspension, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) has made extensive arrangements for stranded pilgrims in Katra. The Shrine Board has started a free langar (community meal), providing freshly prepared food and drinking water to devotees waiting for the yatra to resume. Shelter, medical assistance, and other essential services are also being provided to ensure the comfort and well-being of pilgrims.
SMVDSB officials are issuing regular updates through official communication channels and have appealed to devotees to rely only on verified information. The administration is closely monitoring the weather situation and coordinating with relevant agencies to restore the pilgrimage as soon as conditions become safe.
Pilgrims have appreciated the timely arrangements made by the Shrine Board, highlighting the availability of free meals, support services, and continuous assistance during the temporary halt.
