Srinagar The Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council has commenced the selection trials for the J&K Sub-Junior Girls Football Team to identify talented young footballers who will represent the Union Territory in upcoming national-level competitions.
The trials witnessed enthusiastic participation from aspiring players drawn from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir, reflecting the growing popularity of women’s football in the region. The selection process is being conducted by experienced coaches and technical experts, who are evaluating the participants on key aspects such as technical ability, physical fitness, tactical awareness, teamwork, and overall game performance.
Officials of the Sports Council said the trials are aimed at selecting the most deserving players while ensuring a transparent and merit-based process. The initiative forms part of the Council’s continued efforts to strengthen grassroots football and provide young athletes with opportunities to compete at higher levels.
The selected players will undergo a structured coaching and training programme to enhance their skills and prepare them for national championships. The camp will focus on improving match fitness, technical proficiency, tactical understanding, and team coordination under the guidance of qualified coaches.
The J&K Sports Council has been actively promoting football across the Union Territory by organising talent identification programmes, coaching camps, and competitive tournaments.
