Jammu, July 13,2026- A fresh batch of 7,754 pilgrims embarked on the sacred Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu on Monday under comprehensive multi-layered security arrangements.
The pilgrims left in a convoy of escorted vehicles during the early hours, heading towards the twin base camps of Baltal in Ganderbal district and Nunwan (Pahalgam) in Anantnag district. Authorities ensured the smooth movement of the convoy with extensive security deployment along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and all key transit points.
The annual pilgrimage to the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine continues to witness an overwhelming response from devotees arriving from across the country. The administration, in coordination with the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), traffic authorities, and health departments, has put in place elaborate arrangements to facilitate a safe, secure, and hassle-free pilgrimage.
Security personnel have intensified surveillance through vehicle escorts, checkpoints, CCTV monitoring, and quick response teams to ensure the safety of pilgrims throughout the journey. Medical facilities, emergency response units, sanitation services, and assistance centres remain operational along both Yatra routes.
The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, one of India’s most revered Hindu pilgrimages, continues amid strict safety protocols, with authorities appealing to pilgrims to follow official advisories, maintain cleanliness, and cooperate with security personnel for the successful conduct of the pilgrimage.
