Baltal, July 9,2026- The Jammu & Kashmir Police continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of devotees undertaking the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, with dedicated personnel and specialized assistance teams deployed across the entire pilgrimage route.
To enhance the pilgrimage experience, the police have stationed trained support teams known as “Amar Bandhu”, easily identifiable by their distinctive blue vests. Working round the clock, these teams provide comprehensive assistance to pilgrims, particularly the elderly, children, and persons with disabilities, ensuring that every devotee can undertake the sacred journey with confidence and ease.
The Amar Bandhu teams assist children along the trekking route, provide wheelchairs for elderly and physically challenged pilgrims, ensure the availability of drinking water, and offer immediate help to anyone requiring assistance during the Yatra.
During an interaction on the Baltal route, a group of pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh expressed their appreciation for the seamless arrangements made by the Jammu & Kashmir Police. The devotees praised the force for its exceptional hospitality, constant vigilance, and prompt support services, stating that the well-coordinated efforts had made their spiritual journey safe, comfortable, and memorable.
The Jammu & Kashmir Police has strengthened its security and public assistance measures throughout the pilgrimage, combining robust security arrangements with humanitarian support to facilitate a smooth and incident-free Yatra.
With thousands of devotees arriving daily at the holy cave shrine, the dedicated efforts of police personnel and Amar Bandhu volunteers continue to reinforce confidence among pilgrims, ensuring that faith, safety, and service remain at the heart of the Amarnath Yatra.
