LG Manoj Sinha reviews Amarnath Yatra arrangements at Nunwan & Chandanwari

Pahalgam, July 5, 2026- Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha on Saturday conducted an extensive review of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 arrangements during visits to the Nunwan Base Camp and Chandanwari in Anantnag district, assessing security, pilgrim facilities, healthcare services, and overall management of the annual pilgrimage.

At the Nunwan Base Camp, the Lieutenant Governor chaired a meeting with senior officials to review key aspects of the Yatra, including the movement of pilgrims, security arrangements, accommodation, registration, and other logistical requirements. He directed officials to accord the highest priority to the safety, security, and convenience of pilgrims and emphasized the importance of ensuring that devotees undertake the pilgrimage only on their designated registration dates to reduce waiting time and facilitate smooth movement.

During his interaction with pilgrims, Shri Manoj Sinha assured them that the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board and all departments associated with the Yatra are working round the clock to provide a safe, secure, and hassle-free spiritual experience.

The Lieutenant Governor also reviewed the ground situation and pilgrim facilities at the Chandanwari Camp, where he inspected arrangements for accommodation, food, sanitation, and other essential services. Stressing a whole-of-government approach, he said every effort is being made to provide quality facilities to devotees of Lord Shiva and ensure that every pilgrim has a blissful darshan and a spiritually enriching journey. He instructed Yatra management teams to regularly assess pilgrim feedback and remain available round the clock to address any concerns.

As part of his visit, Shri Manoj Sinha inspected the Base Hospital at Chandanwari to assess healthcare preparedness for the Yatra. He toured hospital wards, laboratories, and emergency units and interacted with patients to review the quality of medical care being provided. Appreciating the dedication of doctors, paramedics, and healthcare workers, he commended their commitment to ensuring prompt and quality healthcare services for pilgrims.

The Lieutenant Governor reiterated that the Jammu and Kashmir Administration remains committed to providing world-class facilities, robust security, and efficient healthcare services to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
