Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Urges Youth to Lead Drug-Free J&K Movement, Launches ‘Mulaqaat’ Initiative

Srinagar, June 28,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday interacted with volunteers of the Save Youth Save Future Foundation at Lok Bhavan in Srinagar, appreciating their unwavering commitment to community outreach and their active role in raising awareness against substance abuse across Jammu and Kashmir.

During the interaction, the Lieutenant Governor praised the foundation’s efforts in mobilising young people to participate in the fight against drug addiction and encouraged them to continue their social initiatives with dedication.

Addressing the volunteers, Shri Manoj Sinha called upon the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to become ambassadors of a drug-free society, urging them to spread awareness in their respective localities and contribute towards building a healthier, safer, and more prosperous future.

Reaffirming the administration’s firm resolve against the narcotics menace, the Lieutenant Governor said the government remains committed to dismantling the entire drug ecosystem in the Union Territory. He stressed that while strict action would continue against drug traffickers and peddlers, equal emphasis would be placed on providing treatment, rehabilitation, and opportunities for the reintegration of affected youth into mainstream society.

Members of the Save Youth Save Future Foundation expressed their gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for spearheading the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, describing it as a transformative campaign against substance abuse. They also appreciated the stringent action taken by the Civil Administration and the Jammu and Kashmir Police against drug peddlers and individuals involved in the illegal narcotics trade.

On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor formally launched “Mulaqaat,” a new initiative of the Save Youth Save Future Foundation aimed at fostering social cohesion by bringing together people from diverse communities. The programme seeks to create platforms for individuals to share memories, experiences, traditions, and cultural heritage while strengthening communal harmony, mutual understanding, and social bonds across society.

Among those present during the event were Shri Wajahat Farooq Bhat, Chairman of the Save Youth Save Future Foundation; Ms. Anika Nazir, Women’s Wing Head; Shri Mudasir Ahmed Dar, South Kashmir Zonal President; and other members of the foundation.
