Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026: Langar supplies reach Banihal as final preparations gain momentum

Banihal, June 28,2026- Preparations for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 have entered the final phase, with truckloads of supplies for langars (community kitchens) arriving at Banihal ahead of the annual pilgrimage, which is scheduled to commence on July 3.

The movement of essential supplies, including food grains, cooking equipment, and other materials, reflects the large-scale arrangements being made to ensure a smooth and comfortable pilgrimage for lakhs of devotees expected to undertake the sacred journey to the holy cave shrine.

Devotees and voluntary service organizations from across the country are establishing langars along the yatra route to offer free meals, tea, drinking water, and refreshments to pilgrims. These community kitchens have long been an integral part of the pilgrimage, symbolizing the spirit of selfless service (seva) and hospitality.

Authorities have intensified preparations across the yatra route, focusing on logistics, security, sanitation, healthcare, traffic management, and other essential facilities to ensure a safe and seamless experience for pilgrims. Banihal, being a key transit point on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, has witnessed increased movement of vehicles carrying langar materials and other essential supplies.

With just days remaining before the pilgrimage begins, the arrival of langar supplies highlights the coordinated efforts of government agencies, security forces, and volunteer organizations to ensure that all arrangements are in place for the successful conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
