Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026: J&K tourism plans Cultural evenings for pilgrims

Srinagar, June 16,2026-In a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the pilgrimage experience, the Department of Tourism, Jammu & Kashmir, has announced plans to organize special cultural evenings for devotees participating in the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026. The move is part of the government’s broader efforts to showcase the region’s rich cultural heritage, hospitality, and traditions to thousands of pilgrims visiting the Union Territory.

According to tourism officials, a series of cultural programs featuring traditional Kashmiri music, folk dances, local handicrafts, and regional cuisine will be held at key Yatra transit camps and designated venues along the pilgrimage route. These events are designed to provide spiritual travelers with an opportunity to experience the vibrant culture of Jammu & Kashmir beyond the sacred pilgrimage.

The Department of Tourism stated that dedicated efforts are being made to ensure that Amarnath Yatra pilgrims take back lasting memories of the region’s warmth, hospitality, and cultural diversity. The cultural evenings will also serve as a platform for local artists and performers to showcase their talent before a national audience.

Officials emphasized that all arrangements are being coordinated in close collaboration with district administrations, security agencies, and tourism stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of the events while maintaining safety and convenience for pilgrims.

The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 is expected to witness a large influx of devotees from across India. Alongside improved infrastructure, accommodation facilities, and transportation services, the cultural programs aim to enrich the overall pilgrimage experience and promote religious tourism in Jammu & Kashmir.
