Kashmir, June 15,2026-With the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 set to commence on 3 July, devotees and voluntary langar organisations from Punjab, Haryana and Delhi have started arriving in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) carrying essential supplies to set up free community kitchens for pilgrims along the Yatra route.
According to early reports, trucks loaded with food grains, cooking materials, tents, and other essentials are moving towards key base camps and transit points across the pilgrimage route. These langars (free community kitchens) will provide free meals, water, and resting facilities to lakhs of pilgrims undertaking the difficult Himalayan trek to the holy Amarnath Cave shrine.
Officials and volunteer groups associated with the preparations said that arrangements are being made at multiple locations along both major routes of the Yatra—Pahalgam axis and Baltal axis—to ensure uninterrupted service to devotees.
As per the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board schedule, the Yatra will begin on 3 July 2026 and continue till late August, attracting large numbers of pilgrims from across India.
Community service through langars is considered an integral part of the Yatra experience, with organisations from northern states traditionally playing a key role in supporting pilgrims through seva (selfless service).
Authorities are also coordinating with voluntary groups to ensure food safety, logistics, and proper placement of langar sites along the route.
