CRPF Marks World Blood Donor Day with blood donation drive in Ramban

Ramban, June 15,2026- On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, the Central Reserve Police Force (Central Reserve Police Force) organised a blood donation drive at the District Hospital in Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir, to encourage voluntary blood donation and strengthen blood bank supplies.

The initiative witnessed active participation from personnel of the 84 Battalion, with more than 10 volunteers stepping forward to donate blood as part of the humanitarian programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Commandant N. Ranbir Singh of CRPF 84 Battalion said the drive was aimed at promoting awareness about the importance of blood donation, noting that “a single unit of blood can save multiple lives.” He urged young and healthy individuals across the country to come forward and donate blood regularly to ensure adequate availability in medical emergencies.

Officials also highlighted that maintaining sufficient blood reserves is particularly important ahead of large-scale public movements such as the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra, during which thousands of pilgrims are expected to travel through the Ramban region daily.

The CRPF medical team, including doctors and paramedical staff equipped with essential medicines, remains on standby to support emergency healthcare needs in coordination with local health authorities.

The event reinforced the role of security forces not only in maintaining law and order but also in contributing to community welfare and public health initiatives.
