Kashmir Ahead

J&K farmers exposed to modern farming techniques in Rajouri under ATMA scheme

Rajouri, June 15,2026- In a significant initiative aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and promoting modern farming practices, 36 farmers from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir participated in an exposure tour to Rajouri under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Extension (SAME) of the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) scheme.

The exposure visit was organized to provide farmers with firsthand knowledge of advanced agricultural techniques, innovative farming methods, and successful farming models being implemented in the region. During the tour, participants interacted with agricultural experts and progressive farmers to gain practical insights into crop management, sustainable farming practices, and the use of modern agricultural technologies.

Officials highlighted that such exposure visits play a vital role in bridging the gap between research and field-level implementation by encouraging farmers to adopt improved cultivation methods. The initiative is expected to help farmers enhance productivity, improve farm incomes, and promote sustainable agricultural development across Jammu and Kashmir.

The participating farmers appreciated the opportunity, stating that the visit offered valuable learning experiences and practical knowledge that can be implemented in their own fields.

The ATMA scheme continues to facilitate capacity-building programs, training sessions, and exposure tours to empower farmers with the latest advancements in agriculture and allied sectors.
