Ayushman Bharat Brings Free Healthcare to Thousands in Pulwama, Saving Families Heavy Medical Costs
Ayushman Bharat is active since 2018, said Dr Zahoor, BMO Rajpora in Pulwama district, Jammu & Kashmir. Our hospital was also accredited in it. Every year, work keeps on increasing. As of now, we have given 31,00 patients benefits through the Ayushman Bhart scheme. The Golden Card ensures every family at least Rs 5 lakh health benefit annually. It means that if anyone in the family falls ill and has to be admitted in the hospital we do so. Along with the treatment we do surgery if required, and medicines are provided all free, falling under Rs 5 lakh range.
This Ayushman Bharat scheme is beneficial for us poor people. All those people with no financial backing can also treat themselves with dignity with the power of the Golden Ayushman Health Card, said a man in Pulwama.
My father had a leg fracture and we brought him to this hospital in Pulwama. The doctor said surgery is required. My father is the only earning member and there are seven persons in the family. I am studying. We consulted the doctor. We also asked friends and enquired about the cost of surgery at a private hospital. We were informed it would come around to Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.15 lakh. It was too much as my father is a driver so we decided to utilise the benefits of Ayushman Golden Card. The facilities are good and staff is cooperative.
