Reasi, June 12,2026- In a significant initiative aimed at promoting sustainable and profitable agriculture, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Reasi, under the aegis of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu), organized a ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan’ at Dasanoo village in Reasi district.

The awareness campaign witnessed active participation from local farmers, agricultural experts, and extension workers who deliberated on modern farming techniques, soil health management, integrated pest management, and climate-resilient agricultural practices.

During the programme, experts from KVK Reasi highlighted the importance of adopting sustainable farming methods to enhance crop productivity while conserving natural resources. Farmers were educated about judicious use of fertilizers and pesticides, water conservation techniques, organic farming practices, and scientific crop management strategies.

Addressing the gathering, KVK scientists emphasized that sustainable agriculture is key to ensuring long-term farm profitability, environmental protection, and food security. They encouraged farmers to adopt innovative technologies and government-supported agricultural schemes to improve their livelihoods.

The campaign also served as a platform for direct interaction between farmers and agricultural experts, allowing participants to discuss challenges faced in farming and seek practical solutions. Informational materials on best agricultural practices were distributed among the attendees.

The ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan’ reflects KVK Reasi’s continued commitment to empowering farmers through knowledge dissemination, capacity building, and promotion of sustainable agricultural development in the region.
