Katra ,June 8,2026-A massive influx of devotees has been witnessed in Katra as thousands of pilgrims continue to arrive for the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra, one of the country’s most revered religious pilgrimages.

The town of Katra, the base camp for the pilgrimage, has been experiencing heavy footfall, with devotees from across India gathering to seek the blessings of Mata Vaishno Devi. Long queues were seen at registration counters and along various points of the yatra route as pilgrims eagerly prepared for the sacred journey.

Authorities, including the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and local administration, have intensified crowd-management measures to ensure the smooth movement and safety of pilgrims. Security personnel and volunteers have been deployed at key locations to assist devotees and maintain order.

The surge in pilgrim numbers has also boosted local business activity, benefiting hotels, transport operators, shopkeepers, and other stakeholders associated with religious tourism in the region.
