Srinagar, June 4,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the ‘Rishiwar’ Inter-Faith Conference in Srinagar and highlighted India’s long-standing tradition of religious harmony, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor said that the idea of honoring all faiths equally has been deeply woven into the fabric of India’s philosophy for thousands of years. He emphasized that while many nations across the world continue to grapple with the challenge of coexistence, diversity has always been India’s natural rhythm of life.
“India’s civilisational values are rooted in inclusivity, mutual respect, and acceptance. Our culture teaches us to celebrate diversity and uphold the dignity of every faith and belief system,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor noted that inter-faith dialogue plays a crucial role in strengthening social cohesion and fostering understanding among different communities. He said such conferences provide an important platform for promoting peace, harmony, and collective progress.
Highlighting the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir, he said the region has historically been a beacon of communal harmony and the confluence of diverse traditions. He stressed the need to preserve and strengthen these values for future generations.
The ‘Rishiwar’ Inter-Faith Conference brought together religious leaders, scholars, intellectuals, and representatives from various faith communities to discuss the importance of unity, mutual respect, and shared human values.
