Rajouri, May 31,2026- In a significant step towards promoting sports and youth development in border areas, sports kits were distributed among youth clubs in villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri under the Khelo India initiative. The programme was organized by the My Bharat Department with the objective of encouraging greater participation in sports and providing constructive opportunities for young people living in remote border regions.
The distribution drive was led by State Director Nitin Hangloo and District Youth Officer Akhil Arya, who interacted with local youth and emphasized the role of sports in fostering discipline, teamwork, and personal growth. The initiative seeks to strengthen sports culture in border villages and motivate young athletes to pursue their sporting aspirations.
By equipping youth clubs with essential sports equipment, the programme aims to create a supportive environment where young people can engage in healthy recreational activities and develop their skills. Officials highlighted that such initiatives play an important role in channeling the energy of youth towards positive and productive pursuits.
The Khelo India Scheme continues to serve as a key platform for identifying and nurturing sporting talent across the country, with special focus on reaching underserved and remote areas. The latest initiative in Rajouri reflects the commitment to ensuring that youth residing along the LoC receive equal opportunities to participate in sports and realize their potential.
The beneficiaries welcomed the move, expressing hope that improved access to sports facilities and equipment will encourage greater participation in games and contribute to the overall development of their communities.
