Katra, May 23,2026-Despite the scorching heat conditions, an overwhelming number of devotees continue to throng the revered Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Jammu and Kashmir. Over 93,000 pilgrims have paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine within the last two days, reflecting the unwavering faith and devotion of worshippers arriving from different parts of the country.
Long queues of devotees were witnessed along the pilgrimage route from Katra to the Bhawan, with pilgrims chanting religious hymns and prayers while making the sacred journey to seek blessings of Mata Vaishno Devi.
Authorities and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board have made extensive arrangements to ensure smooth movement and convenience for pilgrims amid the prevailing heatwave conditions. Facilities including drinking water points, medical assistance, sanitation services, and security arrangements have been strengthened along the yatra route.
Officials stated that the inflow of pilgrims has increased significantly due to the summer vacation season and favorable pilgrimage arrangements. Pony operators, battery car services, and helicopter services are also witnessing heavy demand during the ongoing rush.
Devotees expressed deep spiritual enthusiasm and said that their faith and devotion remain stronger than the harsh weather conditions. Many pilgrims described the yatra as a spiritually fulfilling experience despite the intense heat.
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine remains one of the most visited pilgrimage destinations in India, attracting lakhs of devotees every year.
