Mega Padyatra under 100-day Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan to be held in Bandipora today

Bandipora, May 25,2026- Braving heavy rainfall, people in Bandipora came out of their homes in huge numbers on Monday to participate in the Mega Padyatra organised under the ongoing 100 Days Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan. The rally, led by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, witnessed overwhelming public participation, reflecting strong support for the anti-drug movement across the district.

People from different walks of life, including youth, students, civil society members, traders, volunteers, and local residents, joined the padyatra carrying placards and banners with anti-drug messages. Despite the inclement weather, the enthusiasm among participants remained high as they marched shoulder to shoulder with the Lieutenant Governor to send out a clear message that Kashmir stands united against drugs and narco-terrorism.

The massive turnout during the rally highlighted the growing public resolve to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and protect the younger generation from substance abuse. Participants raised slogans promoting a drug-free Kashmir and called for collective efforts to make the campaign successful.

Even amid continuous rainfall, the head of the Union Territory, along with locals, actively led and participated in the padyatra, demonstrating unwavering commitment towards building a safer and drug-free Jammu and Kashmir. The event also showcased the strong connection between the administration and the people in the fight against narcotics.

Officials said the Mega Padyatra forms part of the broader 100 Days Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan being conducted across the Union Territory to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drugs, encourage community participation, and strengthen the fight against narco-terrorism.

The rally concluded with renewed calls for unity, awareness, and public cooperation to ensure a healthier and brighter future for Kashmir’s youth.
