Budgam Strawberry festival promotes modern farming and Kashmiri culture

Budgam,May 23, 2026- The Strawberry Picking Festival commenced in the Khansahib area of Budgam district, drawing enthusiastic participation from locals, farmers, youth, and visitors. The two-day festival aims to promote modern farming practices while showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir.

The event features strawberry farms open for visitors, allowing participants to experience strawberry picking firsthand and learn about advanced cultivation techniques being adopted by local growers. Organisers said the festival is focused on educating youth about sustainable and modern agricultural practices and encouraging greater interest in horticulture and agri-entrepreneurship.

Several stalls have been set up at the venue displaying traditional Kashmiri art, local handicrafts, agricultural products, and live farming demonstrations. Visitors are also getting an opportunity to witness cultural performances and interact with local farmers and artisans.
