Jammu, May 23,2026- Jammu and Kashmir is set to get its first major 3D wall mural art installation at Lakhanpur Gateway, aimed at welcoming Amarnath Yatris and tourists entering the Union Territory while showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage and artistic legacy.
The large-scale mural installation is being developed as a unique visual attraction depicting the journey of Dogra culture, art, peace, and prosperity from the era of the Dogra dynasty to modern-day Jammu and Kashmir. The artwork is expected to become a major landmark and tourist attraction at Lakhanpur, which serves as the gateway to the Union Territory.
Officials said the mural has been designed to offer visitors a vibrant cultural experience upon entering Jammu and Kashmir. Through 3D artistic elements and traditional themes, the installation seeks to highlight the historical legacy, traditions, and evolving identity of the region.
The project is also being viewed as an effort to promote tourism, beautification, and cultural awareness while creating an engaging public space for pilgrims and travellers visiting Jammu and Kashmir, especially during the annual Amarnath Yatra.
The installation is expected to enhance the visual appeal of Lakhanpur and provide visitors with an artistic glimpse into the rich heritage and peaceful transformation of Jammu and Kashmir.
