Anantnag: Civil Society, J&K Police and CRPF hold Anti-Drug Rally from Nipora to Mir Bazar

Anantnag, May 23, 2026- In a strong show of unity against drug abuse, an anti-drug awareness rally was organised in Anantnag district by civil society members in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

The rally commenced from Nipora and culminated at Mir Bazar, drawing participation from hundreds of youths, volunteers, and local residents who joined hands to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug addiction and substance abuse.

Participants carried placards and banners carrying anti-drug messages while raising slogans promoting a healthy and addiction-free society. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from young people who pledged to stand against the drug menace and support efforts aimed at protecting society from narcotics.

Organisers said the initiative was aimed at encouraging community involvement in the ongoing fight against drug abuse and creating awareness among the younger generation about the dangers posed by narcotics. They emphasized that collective efforts by society, law enforcement agencies, and community leaders are essential to eliminate the drug menace from the region.

Officials from the police and CRPF highlighted the importance of public participation in anti-drug campaigns and reiterated their commitment towards making Jammu and Kashmir drug-free through awareness drives, preventive measures, and strict action against drug peddlers.

The rally forms part of the broader anti-drug movement being carried out across Jammu and Kashmir under various awareness and outreach programmes aimed at safeguarding youth and promoting social well-being.
