Srinagar, May 20,2026- The Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today attended the Lal Ded National Award Ceremony held in Srinagar, organised by Sarhad Pune. The event celebrated outstanding women achievers and highlighted the role of Nari Shakti in shaping society.
Speaking on the occasion, LG Manoj Sinha said that the blessings and teachings of saint-poet Lal Ded continue to nurture India’s civilisational values, preserving its arts, literature, music, folk traditions, and spiritual wisdom. He noted that her philosophy of compassion, truth, and morality remains highly relevant in today’s world and can serve as a guiding force for a peaceful and inclusive global society.
Women shaping the soul of society
Emphasising women empowerment, LG Manoj Sinha said that Nari Shakti has consistently set new benchmarks across fields and played a crucial role in shaping the “soul of society.” He stressed that women empowerment must remain a top priority for both society and government, especially in innovation and entrepreneurship.
“By setting new standards in their fields, remarkable women achievers have helped shape the soul of society. Women empowerment must be a top priority for both society and government,” LG Manoj Sinha said.
Call for gender equality and partnership
Highlighting gender equality, LG Manoj Sinha stated that men and women must work as equal partners in building a just and developed nation. He added that women’s progress strengthens families and ultimately contributes to national development.
“I believe gender equality is a call for men to stand shoulder to shoulder with women and to be partners and allies,” he said.
Tribute to Lal Ded’s legacy
Reflecting on Lal Ded’s teachings, LG Manoj Sinha said her life demonstrates how inner strength, faith, and courage can turn adversity into opportunity. He described her as a beacon of hope and a guiding light for humanity.
