Srinagar, May 18, 2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha conducted an on-site inspection of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board’s Yatri Niwas at Pantha Chowk and reviewed the ongoing construction works and pilgrim facilities ahead of the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra.
During the inspection, the Lieutenant Governor assessed the progress of infrastructure development, accommodation facilities and essential services being prepared for yatris visiting the holy cave shrine.
LG Manoj Sinha directed concerned officials and executing agencies to fast-track all pending works and ensure their timely completion before the commencement of the yatra. He stressed the importance of providing safe, clean and comfortable facilities for pilgrims.
The inspection was part of the administration’s broader efforts to strengthen arrangements for the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026, including improved accommodation, sanitation, security and logistical support for devotees.
Officials informed the Lieutenant Governor about the status of ongoing projects and measures being taken to ensure smooth management during the pilgrimage season.
The Shri Amarnath Yatra remains one of the most significant annual pilgrimages in Jammu and Kashmir, attracting thousands of devotees from across the country every year.
