Srinagar, May 16,2026- Manoj Sinha extended warm greetings to the people of Sikkim on the occasion of the state’s Statehood Day, celebrated at Jammu Kashmir Raj Bhavan.
Marking the special occasion, the Lieutenant Governor conveyed his best wishes and praised Sikkim for its remarkable progress in sustainable development, environmental conservation, and organic farming initiatives.
In his message, the Lieutenant Governor said that Sikkim, known for its breathtaking natural beauty and eco-friendly development model, continues to inspire the nation through its achievements in sustainable growth and organic agriculture.
“May the state, known for its breathtaking natural beauty and remarkable achievements in sustainable development and organic farming, continue to scale new heights of growth and development. I pray for the well-being and prosperity of all its citizens,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
The celebration of Sikkim Statehood Day at Raj Bhavan reflected the spirit of national unity and cultural harmony, highlighting the importance of commemorating the rich heritage and achievements of different states across the country.
Sikkim, which became the 22nd state of India on May 16, 1975, is widely recognised for its environmental policies, clean governance, and successful transition towards becoming a fully organic farming state. The Himalayan state has earned national and international appreciation for balancing economic progress with ecological preservation.
Officials and staff present at the occasion also acknowledged Sikkim’s contribution towards promoting sustainable tourism, biodiversity conservation, and rural development. The event emphasized the values of unity in diversity and cooperative federalism.
The Lieutenant Governor reiterated his hope for continued peace, prosperity, and development for the people of Sikkim and appreciated the state’s achievements in various sectors that contribute to the nation’s growth.
