Rajouri, May 13,2026-Rajouri district is set to receive its first-ever 100-bedded boys’ hostel under the Samagra Shiksha Scheme for students belonging to Line of Control (LoC) and remote border areas.
The hostel, being constructed at a cost of ₹2.45 crore, aims to provide better educational facilities and residential support to students from far-flung villages who face challenges in accessing quality education due to distance and difficult terrain.
Officials said the facility will offer free boarding and lodging along with modern educational support to ensure a better learning environment for students from border areas.
The project is expected to benefit students from remote parts of Rajouri district by helping them continue their education without the hardships of long-distance travel.
Authorities added that the hostel will be equipped with necessary infrastructure and amenities to support the academic and overall development of the students.
The initiative is being viewed as a significant step towards improving educational access and strengthening support for students living in border and remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
