Kashmir, May 13,2026-Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday visited the Vibrant Village Tregam in Kupwara district and reiterated the government’s commitment towards transforming border villages into model villages through modern infrastructure, better connectivity and enhanced opportunities for the youth.
During the visit, the Lieutenant Governor inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several developmental projects aimed at improving public infrastructure and strengthening essential services in the region. He also interacted with villagers and discussed their concerns, requirements and aspirations for the development of the area.
Addressing the gathering, LG Sinha said that every village deserves all-weather roads, quality education, modern schools and employment opportunities for young people. He stated that after 2019, focused efforts have been made to accelerate development in border areas and improve the quality of life for residents living in remote villages.
The Lieutenant Governor said the administration is working with the vision of transforming border villages into vibrant and self-reliant communities. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India remains fully committed to the all-round development of Jammu and Kashmir’s border regions.
Officials said several initiatives related to roads, healthcare, education, drinking water and rural infrastructure are being implemented in Kupwara and other border districts to ensure inclusive and sustainable development.
Residents of Tregam appreciated the developmental initiatives and expressed hope that the ongoing projects would further strengthen infrastructure and improve living standards in the area.
