LG Manoj Sinha inaugurates National Youth Festival in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 11,2026- Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday inaugurated the National Youth Festival in Srinagar and said the event reflects the growing role of youth in shaping the future of India.

Addressing participants during the inaugural ceremony, the Lieutenant Governor said the National Youth Festival is a proclamation that “the time for youth has arrived” and emphasised that the country’s future will be built on the energy, innovation and leadership of young people.

Sinha said the festival’s “Young Leaders Dialogue” initiative is laying the foundation for the next chapter of India’s glorious heritage and will help create a strong framework for a developed and self-reliant nation.

“The National Youth Festival declares a new vision of ‘Rise, Shine, and Conquer’ for our youth. It encapsulates a complete philosophy that lights the path to the future, a promise, and a bold challenge to build a developed India by 2047,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the importance of empowering youth through leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship and nation-building initiatives. He said India’s young population has the potential to drive transformative change and contribute significantly towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The event witnessed participation of youth delegates, students, artists and cultural groups from different parts of the country. Various programmes, discussions and cultural activities are being organised as part of the festival to promote leadership, creativity and national integration among young people.

Officials said the festival aims to provide a platform for youth to exchange ideas, showcase talent and contribute towards social and national development.

The National Youth Festival in Srinagar is also being seen as a major step towards encouraging youth participation and strengthening cultural and educational engagement in Jammu and Kashmir.
