LG Manoj Sinha attends Somnath Swabhiman Parv, calls temple symbol of India’s unbroken faith

Jammu, May 11, 2026-Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the Somnath Swabhiman Parv celebrations at the historic Somnath Temple and described the sacred shrine as a timeless symbol of India’s unbroken faith, resilience and civilisational strength.

Sharing his thoughts after attending the special puja, the Lieutenant Governor said the consecration of the rebuilt Somnath Temple on May 11, 1951, marked a defining moment in India’s cultural and spiritual resurgence.

“From the consecration of the rebuilt Somnath on May 11, 1951, to this day, this centre of faith has ignited the deepest spirit in every Indian. I am confident that Somnath’s blessings will continue to inspire us to march forward with renewed resolve,” Manoj Sinha said.

The Lieutenant Governor said he felt blessed to participate in the puja organised during Somnath Swabhiman Parv, which commemorates 1,000 years of unwavering faith and determination associated with the temple.

Highlighting the historical importance of Somnath Temple, Sinha said the shrine has stood strong despite repeated invasions and destruction over centuries and continues to guide the nation with its enduring spiritual legacy.

“Despite countless atrocities and invasions by aggressors, Somnath has remained a guiding light ushering Bharat towards new horizons,” he said.

The Somnath Temple, one of the twelve revered Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva, holds immense religious and cultural significance and attracts devotees from across the country throughout the year.

The event witnessed participation of devotees, saints and dignitaries who joined special prayers and religious ceremonies to celebrate the temple’s rich spiritual and historical legacy.
