Gautam Gambhir offers prayers at Vaishno Devi Shrine

Katra, May 9,2026- Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir arrived in Katra on Friday to offer prayers at the revered Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple.

Gambhir received a warm welcome upon his arrival in the pilgrimage town, which continues to witness a heavy inflow of devotees from across the country. The former Indian opener and current national team coach is expected to undertake the pilgrimage to seek blessings at the holy shrine situated in the Trikuta Hills.

The visit of the cricket icon drew attention among fans and pilgrims present in Katra, many of whom gathered to catch a glimpse of the former cricketer.

The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine remains one of the most visited religious destinations in the country, attracting lakhs of devotees every year. Visits by prominent personalities from sports, politics, and entertainment continue to add to the spiritual and cultural significance of the pilgrimage site.
