Baramulla cracks down on drug network

Baramulla, May 8,2026-Baramulla Continuing its crackdown against drug trafficking and narcotics networks, Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with the district administration, demolished the property of an alleged drug peddler and sealed a commercial establishment in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Officials said the action was carried out as part of ongoing measures to dismantle the infrastructure and financial networks linked to drug trafficking in the region. The property was allegedly being used to support illegal narcotics-related activities.

Police said the operation was conducted in accordance with legal procedures and under relevant provisions of the law aimed at curbing the menace of drug abuse and narcotics trade in Jammu and Kashmir.

The commercial establishment linked to the accused was also sealed during the drive. Authorities stated that strict action would continue against individuals involved in drug peddling, with a focus on protecting the youth from the growing threat of substance abuse.

Over the past several months, Jammu and Kashmir Police have intensified anti-narcotics operations across multiple districts, including arrests of drug peddlers, seizure of contraband substances, and attachment of properties acquired through illegal drug trade.

Officials reiterated their commitment to making society drug-free and urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information related to narcotics activities.
