Srinagar, May 4,2026- Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has intensified its crackdown on drug networks, taking strict action against smugglers and peddlers across the Union Territory in the first 15 days of the campaign.
Officials reported multiple arrests, seizure of narcotics, and dismantling of drug supply chains, signaling a strong enforcement push against the growing menace of substance abuse. The drive targets both local peddlers and cross-border smuggling networks, with coordinated operations conducted in several districts.
Senior police officials stated that the campaign focuses not only on enforcement but also on awareness and rehabilitation, aiming to break the cycle of addiction among youth. Special teams have been deployed to track repeat offenders and organized narco networks.
The campaign has also seen community participation, with citizens encouraged to report drug-related activities. Police have reiterated their commitment to making J&K drug-free, warning of strict action against anyone involved in the narcotics trade.
Authorities emphasized that the fight against drugs is a collective responsibility, and sustained efforts under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan will continue with increased vigilance and inter-agency coordination.
