Kashmir, May 4,2026- In a significant push toward rural development, villages across the Udhampur–Kathua–Doda Lok Sabha Constituency are set to benefit from enhanced road connectivity under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
As part of the latest phase of PMGSY, authorities have sanctioned funds to strengthen and expand rural road infrastructure, with a special focus on connecting remote and far-flung areas that have long faced accessibility challenges. The initiative is expected to significantly improve transportation, ease of travel, and access to essential services for local residents.
The Jasrota constituency is among the key beneficiaries in this phase, with multiple road projects receiving approval. These developments are poised to enhance last-mile connectivity, linking isolated villages to main roads, markets, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions.
Officials stated that the improved road network will not only reduce travel time but also open new avenues for economic growth by facilitating smoother movement of goods and services. Better connectivity is expected to boost agricultural trade, tourism potential, and overall socio-economic progress in the region.
The PMGSY initiative continues to play a vital role in transforming rural infrastructure across Jammu & Kashmir, aligning with the broader vision of inclusive development and improved quality of life in underserved areas.
