Srinagar, May 4,2026-In a rare and inspiring act of faith, four young devotees have undertaken a ‘Dandvat Yatra’ to the sacred Amarnath Cave, drawing attention from pilgrims and locals alike during the ongoing yatra season.
The Dandvat Yatra is an intense form of pilgrimage in which devotees cover the entire distance by repeatedly prostrating—lying flat on the ground in reverence—and then moving forward step by step. The four youth began their spiritual journey from the Baltal route in Srinagar, braving harsh weather conditions, steep terrains, and physical exhaustion to reach the holy cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Despite the demanding nature of the journey, the young pilgrims expressed unwavering faith and determination. “This is not just a यात्रा but a test of devotion and inner strength,” one of the participants said, adding that their aim is to seek blessings and inspire others through their spiritual commitment.
Authorities and fellow pilgrims have lauded their devotion, noting that such acts symbolize the deep-rooted religious traditions associated with the annual Amarnath Yatra. Security personnel and medical teams stationed along the route are providing necessary assistance to ensure the safety and well-being of all pilgrims.
The Amarnath Yatra continues to witness participation from thousands of devotees across the country, with improved infrastructure, safety arrangements, and facilities contributing to a smoother pilgrimage experience.
The extraordinary effort by these four youth has become a talking point among yatris, highlighting the enduring spirit of faith and devotion that defines the sacred journey to the Amarnath Cave.
