The train recently departed for Srinagar from Platform No. 7 at Jammu Tawi Railway Station, marking a significant milestone in regional transportation.
The launch of this modern train service is expected to greatly enhance travel convenience for daily commuters, tourists, and pilgrims visiting the region. Passengers boarding the inaugural runs expressed enthusiasm, noting that travel time—previously ranging between 12 to 24 hours with uncertainties—has now been reduced significantly, offering a faster, safer, and more comfortable journey.
The Vande Bharat Express is equipped with advanced features, improved seating, and enhanced onboard facilities, ensuring a premium travel experience. Many travellers described the service as a “dream come true” for the people of both Jammu and Kashmir, underlining its importance for regional integration and economic growth.
Authorities have implemented elaborate security arrangements along the route to ensure passenger safety, given the terrain and strategic importance of the corridor.
The new rail service is also expected to boost tourism, particularly benefiting pilgrims heading towards prominent shrines such as the Amarnath Cave and Vaishno Devi Temple.
