J&K Naman Diwas: LG Manoj Sinha honours organ donors

Srinagar, April 27, 2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today attended ‘Naman Diwas’, an event dedicated to honouring organ donors and their families, and expressing Jammu & Kashmir’s deep gratitude for their selfless contributions.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor paid tribute to organ donors, describing them as “silent heroes” whose generosity has saved countless lives. He emphasized that organ donation is one of the noblest acts of humanity, capable of transforming grief into hope for many families.

Manoj Sinha also lauded the efforts of the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO) for its relentless work in promoting awareness about organ donation and strengthening transplant systems in the Union Territory. He noted that SOTTO’s initiatives are playing a vital role in inspiring society and encouraging more people to pledge organs.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the importance of building a robust ecosystem for organ donation, including awareness campaigns, medical infrastructure, and streamlined coordination mechanisms. He urged citizens to come forward and contribute to this life-saving cause.

The event witnessed participation from healthcare professionals, donor families, and officials, who shared powerful stories of courage and compassion. Families of organ donors were honoured for their invaluable contribution to society.

Reaffirming the administration’s commitment, Manoj Sinha stated that the government will continue to support initiatives that promote organ donation and strengthen healthcare delivery across Jammu and Kashmir.
