Srinagar, April 26, 2026- The two-day Chintan Shivir of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports commenced at the SKICC in Srinagar with a rejuvenating yoga session marking the opening of Day 1.
Hosted by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, the event has brought together Ministers and senior officials from all States and Union Territories to deliberate on key issues shaping the future of sports and youth development in India.
The Shivir is being led by Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya along with Minister of State Raksha Nikhil Khadse. The presence of top policymakers underscores the importance of collaborative decision-making and policy alignment across the country.
Key discussions are underway focusing on sports governance reforms, strengthening youth policy frameworks, and advancing the Nasha Mukti Abhiyan. Participants are also exploring strategies to promote a robust sports culture, enhance youth engagement, and build a healthier, drug-free society.
The Chintan Shivir aims to foster stronger Centre–State coordination and chart a unified roadmap for transforming India into a global sporting powerhouse while empowering youth at every level.
