Jammu crackdown: 125 drug peddlers arrested, 13 properties demolished

Jammu, April 25,2026-In a major crackdown on the drug network, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that 125 drug peddlers have been arrested and 13 properties demolished across the Jammu region as part of intensified anti-narcotics operations.

The action is part of the ongoing Nasha-Mukt Jammu & Kashmir campaign, aimed at eliminating drug abuse and dismantling supply chains across the Union Territory. Officials confirmed that the demolished properties were linked to individuals involved in drug trafficking and were being used as storage and distribution hubs.

Security agencies, including Jammu and Kashmir Police, conducted coordinated raids in multiple districts, targeting both local peddlers and organized drug networks. Authorities said intelligence-based operations have significantly strengthened the crackdown.

LG Manoj Sinha reiterated a zero-tolerance policy against drugs, emphasizing that strict action will continue against those involved in the illegal trade. He also urged public participation, calling on families, educators, and civil society to support the mission of building a drug-free society.

“The fight against drugs is not just a law enforcement issue but a collective responsibility to protect our youth,” he said.

The administration has appealed to citizens to report suspicious activities, assuring confidentiality and prompt action. The recent operations reflect the government’s firm commitment to curb the drug menace in Jammu and Kashmir.
