GDC Tral Becomes First ‘Green Campus’ Under J&K Plantation Drive A plantation drive was carried out across Jammu & Kashmir, informed Professor Jasvinder Singh, Principal GDC Tral. Around 10,000 saplings were planted. In GDC college, Tral, saplings were planted carriying out the plantation drive. Environmental Lawyer Nadeem Qadri said, he was grateful to the Government Degree College Tral for giving the volunteers of ‘Go Green Tral’ an opportunity to plant saplings in GDC. He said he was honoured to share that a formal ‘Go Green Tral’ has been launched in collaboration with the J&K Forest Department along with the Forest Protection Force. He said he was extremely grateful to Prof Jasvinder Singh for initiating a massive plantation drive inside the campus. We have designated this campus as a first green campus under our Green Campus programme. Professor Sami Jan, Principal GDC Pulwama said the plantation drive took place in the college with success and good enthusiasm. The purpose of this plantation is to give our children the value of how important the environment is for us. The whole college was involved in planting trees with the intention to save our future and save our forest. If we plant one seed today, tomorrow it can be a forest. This is a message to children that how much plants and forests are valuable to us.
