Srinagar, April 14, 2026- In a strong push against the drug menace, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has directed police officials to prepare a comprehensive list of top drug peddlers at every police station across Jammu & Kashmir.
Chairing a high-level review meeting, the LG emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics and called for the complete dismantling of drug syndicates operating in the region. He instructed the police to adopt a proactive and intelligence-driven approach to identify key players involved in drug trafficking.
Highlighting the need for coordinated action, Sinha urged law enforcement agencies to strengthen surveillance, ensure swift legal action, and enhance inter-district coordination to curb the spread of drugs. He also stressed community participation, noting that public cooperation is vital in eliminating the drug network.
The directive comes amid ongoing efforts by the J&K administration to intensify its anti-drug campaign, safeguard youth, and build a drug-free society.
