Kashmir,April 4, 2026- The second day of the Under-20 football trials witnessed an impressive turnout across Jammu and Kashmir, with over 150 players participating in Srinagar and around 80 players showcasing their skills in Jammu.
Young footballers from different districts displayed remarkable talent, determination, and competitive spirit as they vied for a chance to represent the region at the national level. The trials served as a crucial platform for aspiring players to demonstrate their abilities and catch the attention of selectors.
Coaches and officials overseeing the selection process expressed satisfaction with the level of performance, noting the growing enthusiasm for football among the youth in the Union Territory. The initiative aims to identify and nurture promising talent, providing them with opportunities to compete on bigger stages.
Participants highlighted that such trials not only offer exposure but also motivate young athletes to pursue sports professionally. The strong participation reflects the increasing popularity of football and the rising sports culture in Jammu and Kashmir.
The final phase of the selection trials is scheduled to be held on April 6 and 7, 2026, where shortlisted players will compete for a place in the U-20 team.
