Udhampur launches nutrition support drive to fight tuberculosis

Udhampur, April 3,2026-In a significant step towards combating Tuberculosis, a nutrition-focused support initiative has been launched in Udhampur to provide Poshan Kits to patients undergoing treatment. The initiative aims to enhance recovery outcomes by addressing nutritional deficiencies, which are known to impact the effectiveness of TB treatment.

Under the programme, patients will receive specially curated Poshan Kits containing essential food items to boost immunity and support faster healing. Health officials emphasized that proper nutrition plays a vital role in improving treatment adherence and reducing recovery time among TB patients.

Dr. Anil Saloch lauded the initiative, calling it a crucial intervention in the fight against the disease. He urged citizens to come forward and support patients through the Ni-kshay Mitra initiative, which encourages community participation in providing nutritional and social support to those affected.

The initiative reflects a broader commitment to strengthening public health outreach and ensuring holistic care for TB patients in the region. Authorities reiterated that collective efforts, including community involvement and awareness, are essential to achieving the goal of a TB-free society.
