Fuel duty reduction welcomed by Reasi residents

Reasi, March 28,2026-Residents of Reasi have warmly welcomed the Centre’s decision to reduce excise duty on petrol and diesel, terming it a significant relief for citizens, farmers, and traders grappling with rising costs.

Locals expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ensuring fuel price stability despite ongoing global economic challenges. Many said the move would directly ease household expenses, reduce transportation costs, and support agricultural activities in the region.

Farmers in particular highlighted that lower diesel prices would help cut irrigation and transportation costs, thereby improving their overall margins. Traders and small business owners also noted that the decision would positively impact supply chains and market prices.

At the same time, residents reassured the public about the availability of fuel, urging people not to indulge in panic buying. Citizens confirmed that the supply remains normal across fuel stations in Reasi, emphasizing that there is no cause for concern.

The decision has been widely seen as a timely step to provide economic relief and maintain stability, especially amid fluctuating global fuel prices.
