Jammu, March 27,2026- The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced that over 31,000 houses have been constructed under the Housing for All initiative, marking a significant step towards ensuring affordable housing for all eligible beneficiaries across the Union Territory.
The scheme, implemented under the flagship Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, aims to provide pucca houses with basic amenities to economically weaker sections, low-income groups, and vulnerable families.
Officials stated that the initiative has brought tangible improvements in the living conditions of thousands of households, particularly in rural and remote areas. The government has focused on timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards and transparency in implementation.
The housing drive is part of a broader vision to achieve inclusive growth and social welfare, ensuring that every citizen has access to safe and secure housing.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating the pace of construction and expanding coverage under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, in line with the goal of “Housing for All” in Jammu and Kashmir.
