Volleyball Tournament in Domana engages youth, tackles drug menace

Jammu, March 26,2026- In a proactive effort to promote sports culture and discourage drug abuse among youth, the Jammu & Kashmir Police organized a volleyball tournament in Domana under its Civic Action Program (CAP).

The tournament was inaugurated by Superintendent of Police (SP Rural) Brijesh Sharma, who highlighted the importance of sports in shaping a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. He emphasized that such initiatives not only provide a platform for young talent but also help in steering youth away from the menace of drug abuse.

A total of eight teams participated in the tournament, which was conducted in a knockout format, drawing enthusiastic participation from local players and spectators. The matches witnessed high energy and competitive spirit, reflecting the growing interest of youth in sports activities.

Officials said the event was organized with the dual objective of engaging young people in positive pursuits and strengthening the bond between the police and the community. The Civic Action Program continues to play a vital role in fostering trust and cooperation at the grassroots level.

Participants appreciated the initiative, stating that such tournaments provide them with opportunities to showcase their talent and stay focused on constructive activities.
